So while the fact that she can't get burnt isn't explained, I don't find it that far fetched to accept her ability as a mutation in a world full of. This didn't even require touching the Else. Nila clearly has some kind of 'magic' due to her strength in Fire that prevents her from being burnt, this is how she just up and takes the burning earth spike out of Bo's leg even though it is scorching hot. There are several mentions that the runes on the gloves aren't required to touch the Else, just required to prevent you from burning your hands to a crisp if you do. In much the same way that 'magic is magic' I felt like this wasn't explained in a way that was perfectly explained. In much the same way that 'magic is magic' I felt like this wasn't explained in a way…more I just finished the series and this never really bothered me.
